INGREDIENTS
ground beef
onions, slices
mushrooms
cream of mushroom soup
sour cream
salt and pepper
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Saute onions
2. Add meat and cook until brown
3. Add mushrooms
I did this again and I used beef strips instead, it's good either way, so I don't really care what kind of beef you use. I also add red and green bell peppers, sometimes, and it's good because there's more to eat than the beef and mushroom when you have bell peppers --- and not to mention it adds some pretty colors to the otherwise bland dish.
If you want for the beef to be soft, you can preboil it, like I do and just keep the stock. As for the mushrooms sauce, I've tried using the packet kind and it's okay, but you'll be better off with "Campbell's Cream of Mushroom Soup" in a can because it's creamier. Still, it does not matter if you use the cheaper version. It's still beef stroganoff, anyway. One more tip is for you to add a lot of onions. I love onions especially when they become quite soft and almost caramelized. The beef, onions, mushrooms and bell peppers all go well together!
