Buttered Potatoes with Bacon, Mushrooms and Thyme

INGREDIENTS

potatoes, sliced
mushrooms
bacon, chopped
butter
thyme

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Fry bacon until slightly crispy
2. Add butter and saute mushrooms
3. Add potatoes and heat until it is cooked
4. Add thyme just before finishing

At home we do not do our buttered potatoes this way. My mom buys the cute potatoes, I forgot how you call the small ones, and we cook it with butter, salt and dried basil. I created this recipe --- hahaha --- my first creation. I remember I had some bacon left over and I had potatoes and I did this. If you do not like rice, you usually look for alternatives and potatoes is a good alternative that I usually look for.

I used thyme because in Giada de Laurentiis show, she makes her Gnocchi with thyme and I used to make Gnocchi and I love how thyme tastes with potatoes so I did it for this one and it was just perfect. The individual taste of butter, bacon and thyme make the potatoes truly interesting. Just try your best not to overcook the potatoes because they will be gross if they’re soggy, I’m telling you.
